I've been having game meets with friends for years. It only got called Game Day officially on the 18th of February 2017 when everyone came to my home for a few games. So the title started in my home town of Worksop on that day.
As you can see since then, Game Day has evolved quite a bit. I know table top gamers out there use the term a lot for their own meets, but I do like to think of the ones I do are a little differently. Every event, when the day is over and all the games have been played, we all have a secret vote on who we think did best, then we reveal the winner and they get a special pixel award.
So far, we've had two Game Day's at my house, one in London, and one in Sheffield. We're looking to add Nottingham to that list soon, possibly on the 5th meet due to a train strike stopping my friends getting to Worksop from Sheffield. Should be an interesting day.
I'm going to be adding places as a category on my website and show pieces from Worksop, Sheffield, London, and of course Nottingham when we do a meet there. It wont just follow games, although I am hoping to get a few photos of any game related shops in every place we have a Game Day, but I am aiming to get a few photos and videos of the nice parts as well. All positive of course, I don't want any negativity here.
The photo you can see was taken on Retford Road in Worksop. It's currently on the brand new GAME DAY INFO INSTAGRAM so make sure you come follow us on our gaming journey. I did take my pixel Game Day sign off after I took the photo, unlike the sticker banged on there on the bottom right. I have no idea what that's supposed to be? Anyone know?
Game Day is going to go from strength to strength, these are exciting times in our gaming lives.
Whether it's board games or video games, here's a few blogs for you to indulge into.
