Does anyone play Risk? Great game. If it weren't for this one card coming up for me right at the end of the game last night, I would have lost. Blimey.
Asking the question there of Risk players. I don't think I know a great deal of people who actually indulge themselves in board games. I don't think it's a time issue, it's more like lack of interest in them. The folks who don't care will scroll past this photo, not even read it, and might not even read my status because there's a photo of a game card stuck to it. No matter, everyone is on here as my friend for a reason. :)
Making new friends is harder than you think now the internet has evolved into a society of people who want to make money, or just be more popular with anyone else. Trust has gone out of the window a long time ago. Then there's the whole political arguments, separated groups because of religion or sexuality, there are a lot of ageists too.
This became quite a post. Looking at how things have gone in the world, and some aspects of life, I'm a little sad.

Every time I go to London and the Namco Funscapre arcade, I get on Speed Of Light and go as fast as I can to get an epic score. I didn't do too badly this time round, not at all. When I turned round, there was a lot of people watching me, a lot of people I didn't know. I still did PROPER RAGE!
Funny thing was, two people tried it after me and still got under 300. Haha.
Our new games record books are in full swing. This post is dedicated to @meeplesweek on Instagram and anyone else who might want to give this a go.
Myself and Caroline have been keeping records of our games, digital and board, since we met. Our books have evolved over time, and more recently I separated Game Day so it's got its own tidy book now.
Game Day has all the records, from today, we've done 22 Game Days. It can involve family and friends, but there are rules. To make an official Game Day, 4+ games have to be played, and at the end of the day to find a champion, we all do a secret vote on who we think played best. There's also the Guild title, I work out who actually did do best, both champions, or champion, gets an award to keep. We also have little championships we have to defend. I post photos of my Hama made awards sometimes.
Our private book contains challenges and tournaments. We have a prize pot which builds up after putting money on our games. Loser puts money in. At the end of the book, we have one big book final over a few games, the winner of the prize pot gets to spend it on new games of their choice. Then we make a new book, play some more. Recently, we'd played our 4000th game since we met nearly 10 years ago.
Our new book has our sons' records in too. Considering he's just turned 2, he has the record on Zombie Dice of 12 straight brains. lol. I lost that one badly.
I recommend all gamers give this a go with friends or family. I also add photos in these books, so they're really good to look back on.
RIP Stephen Hawking. Didn't he do well.
I've grown up looking at the stars, I read his book many years ago, A Brief History of Time, and he was one of the physicists that I enjoyed disagreeing with most, so you could say he pushed me with my theories quite a bit. He's famous, I'm not, but I'm still right. ;)
As much as I was a critic, I also admired the man, he fought and did a lot for the scientific world. He also appeared in Star Trek you know? He will be missed.
I made 4 Tweets earlier, all about the war that soon could be covering the world. Russia, or should I say, Vlad Putin, has stated he has nuclear arms that cannot be stopped and can reach any part of the world. With this, we can certify we're into a brand new cold war.
I don't want to fight, my message isn't to the corrupt governments of Russia, United States, China, North Korea, and even my own petty government I have to deal with here in the UK. I'm talking to the innocent people of the world, the ones who have to deal with stupid wars and rules, pressed upon us by rich corrupt idiots who are supposed to look after the people and their country.
My Tweets say it all...
1. Russia, America, UK, our people who aren't in government are NOT at war. it's a few measly idiots who get to make so called laws who will take the people to war. Stand against what they tell you, we are friends, the governments are using innocent people!
2. We don't want another war, we have learnt so much together, we can communicate and we get along. Russia, China, UK, we are all peaceful people. Don't let a few rich idiots who are supposed to be looking after the people and country send you to your death.
3. War is pointless. Look at history when Christmas came and the English and Germans stopped fighting, played football, exchanged gifts. Those were real people used by a government's war. They should have stopped there.... we don't even have to start fighting.
4. Let the governments of my country, the UK, and the rest of the world's so called leaders in North Korea, US, Russia and China, amongst other war mongering so called leaders, have their own war, let them fight each other. I like a lot of people in other countries, we can have peace.
My Twitter is at twitter.com/TonyoTimes if you wish to come for a chat.
I don't want to make enemies because our governments say we should be enemies. I want to make friends and not hate or kill people from another country. I don't want invasions or nuclear bombs, I just want to live in peace with my family and friends, and have a decent future for my son and future generations, not just for my family, but for everyone's families.
We can have peace. Say no to war.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Good action scenes, SPOILER....
The President was right. If anyone thought the Kingsman and the Statesman were right, well I disagree with you. :P
To me, Kingsman 2 was defending drug addicts. It ruined the film.
I paused the movie and said to Caroline "Why even try and help these smack heads. If you just let this poison kill them all, you've just wiped out every druggie on the planet. That isn't a bad thing. We need to cut the population down anyway, this is perfect."
I unpaused the movie and the President said what I said. Then he gets arrested at the end of the movie. Screw that, he'd get my vote.
Also, Whisky died because the Kingsman didn't agree with him, he wanted druggies dead because two of them killed his pregnant girlfriend. So killing him was shit!
Not sure I care for a third Kingsman movie now.
What a month. I started the year being ill, having to cancel Game Day on the 3rd of January, and work was a bit rubbish to begin with. The highs, I'm aiming to watch 365 movies in 2018, as I type this I've watched 31 and I might get another one in before the month ends because there's a couple Caroline wants to see with me. I'm also doing Tonyo Files on my Facebook, it's private though but a good way to make a fun biography and keep memories. I'll post one here for an example of what I'm doing...
I thought I'd add one of my more prouder moments. I've made 31 files in all, and about all kinds of gaming experiences. I'm looking at doing my top 25 movies in February, I haven't even made a start making them yet.
I bought Monster Hunter World for my Xbox One on release. Haven't even had the chance to play it yet. My sleep pattern has been a bit crap, Maverick keeps me busy all day, and there's bits of house work to be done, and work to pay the bills. In saying that, I am really enjoying watching a bunch of new movies and now I'm sat here blogging.
Yesterday, Bernard The Man came round for a game of Carcassonne. My mum bought it for him for Christmas, he's been studying the game and said he could beat me. He's got the right idea of the game, he just made a couple of mistakes by placing a farmer where it was wasted, and he wasn't able to stop me from stealing two of his cities. I beat him 161 to 41. I gave him some strong advice and I think he'll be a strong player one day.
I have been suffering quite a bit for a while with depression. That may be too a strong term for it in my mind, but it is. It's nothing else. I have a few friends who are in the same boat with depression and anxiety. Last week, I had a chat with a friend at work about paranormal experiences, and adding that with my files I've been making, I realised that I've done so much, so much to tell, loads of life experiences, and so much to look forward to, I haven't felt massively down for a few days.
As long as you have things to look forward to and aim to create new memories, then life is good. No need to get stressed over anything really. The only problem life brings are other people sometimes, but who cares about the idiots in life. All is good.
Anyway, going to the dentist today for a filling. Not an experience in life to look forward to but it needs to be done and it'll be over quick.
I could say a lot more but I'm dying for a cup of tea. Nice having hot drinks in this awful windy cold weather. I love it when the cold weather comes but eventually you get sick of it and you want something warm to happen. Spring draws nearer, and by the summer time, I'll be begging for autumn again.
February will be good. Game Day in Sheffield, my birthday, and the start of a two week holiday from work. Not bad, so getting the dentist out of the way on the last day of January, bring it.
Depression and anxiety can be defeated. It may take some thought and sometimes a quiet moment to just to take a step back and breathe. But it can be beaten by the thought of who you are. I hope what I say here can help a little bit.
I know a few people who suffer from these, and I feel you. I had issues when I was at school, not everyone knows that, but I discovered later in life I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable in crowds. I beat that. Now I'm a noisy bastard, don't care what people think, and go to conventions surrounded by thousands of people, while being noisy and not caring what people think. :D
The people I know who suffer from depression and anxiety, are bloody good people. People I would try my best for and give my time for when I can. They also know that if they need a chat, they have people to talk to and I'm one of them. You guys are not alone.
Think of beating it like this... You have unique experiences in life, good times that nobody else can take away from you. Cherish the good memories that you have, and the main thing.. LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEW EXPERIENCES AND MEMORIES YOU'RE GOING TO CREATE. Don't sit back and think you're not going to do something after you've planned doing it, go ahead, have a go, take photos, write a blog, keep things for memorabilia. Have a plan to do something and hold on to it. Life is pretty fun and has a lot of amazing people in it. :) When you've created your new experience, a new memory, you can always sit back with your favourite drink, think about it, and other fond memories, and smile. You are awesome.
This has all come from having a chat with a friend about past experiences, which I must say were exciting, and also from making my Tonyo Files and seeing how much fun I've had and how many cool things have happened, even if not everything went my way, it's still all a real life experience I cherish.
I've had some down moments recently, so much so I was thinking about going to the doctors with it. But I don't think I will because I have things to look forward to, and a lot to be proud of from my life... and so have you.
To my friends, one of the things I cherish most is having you in my life. :) Now, let's have a cup of something hot. I'd say tea but some prefer coffee. :D Sod it, hot chocolate, everyone loves hot chocolate. ;)
All is good.

There's the new Team Titles. We were talking about this at the last Game Day. It's something I've been playing with in my mind, and Ellie mentioned it. The Guild is up for this so it's on from next year.
We currently do Worksop, Sheffield, Nottingham and London. I would like to add another location in 2018. The 5th place will claim Blue as its colour. The 6th will take yellow. Now we just have to wait and see.
Christmas Eve will be Game Day 14, a family event. Last time we did this, Caroline won the vote, and Bernard got the Guild Title for best player. I wonder how it'll all go down in a couple of days?
The big open event is happening in Sheffield on Thursday 22nd February 2018. Patriot Games will be the place to be. I am still hoping for a 10 player game of The Resistance.
That's my Game Day update for anyone that's interested. Merry Christmas.
The only time I watch football is when the FIFA World Cup is on. The passion is there, rather than the club league games that are on all the time, where greed is more priority than the actual game. It's a shame the same louts get to play in the World Cup, but what can you do? At least they wake up a little bit and we see who's real on the pitch when it's the most important event of their lives. Only on every 4 years as well so extremely special.
For the last four World Cup's, I've supported the underdog, Japan. They've had good moments and played really well, and they've had dreadful moments where they played horribly. My honour keeps me with them, they play unique passionate football, unlike England these days, and they're a joy to watch. I'll be buying my 5th Japan Word Cup shirt before it all kicks off too.
Why Japan? It's an amazing country, their language is awesome, the culture they have is very peaceful. The only problem I have with Japan is the fish eating habits, that can be pretty disgusting. They're just as bad as the EU for catching fish and abusing the waters, and we all eat fish, we just do it differently in England, and try and avoid the fish that are nearly extinct. For the record, I've never been to Japan, would have gone by now but my mortgage is priority. Once that's done and my son has grown up, we're all having a family holiday for 2-3 weeks.
Why not England? Around about the same time as I started putting my support behind Japan, I saw the English players for what they were. It had been a few years since I stopped following the league game, I was a Leeds United supporter. But the greed was too much. Shirt prices take the piss, and players these days are NOT role models. They should be leading kids in a positive way, but instead they go out drinking, sleeping with random women, cheating on their wives, fighting, and some of them are even paedophiles. If anything, the female football game is a lot better (they play better than the men too). We don't see enough of the female game still, will it always be male led?
Many moons ago, I was learning Japanese. I was doing pretty well. New family priorities stopped me from learning and I never got back into it. My support for the Japanese football team has never ended though and I doubt it ever will.
GO NIPPON GO!!!!!!!!!
Whether it's board games or video games, here's a few blogs for you to indulge into.
